WACO (January 28, 2010)--Two changes to Baylor’s 2010 non-conference football schedule will now allow the Bears to open the season with back-to-back home games for just the fourth time in the Big 12 era, Baylor Director of Athletics Ian McCaw announced today.

Baylor was originally scheduled to open the 2010 season at TCU, however, that game has moved to Sept. 18th in Fort Worth. The Bears’ will now open their 2010 season against Football Championship Subdivision opponent Sam Houston State of the Southland Conference on Sept. 4 in Waco.

After hosting Buffalo on Sept. 11 for Parents’ Weekend and playing at TCU, Baylor will travel to Houston for the first time since 1994 to square off against the Rice Owls, Sept. 25th to close out its non-conference schedule. Baylor’s Big 12 Conference opener remains Oct. 2nd in Waco against Kansas.

All-told, Baylor will play 10 of 12 games in 2010 in the Lone Star state and four of the Bears’ first six opponents will have new coaches on the sideline.
