(July 7, 2007)--Switzerland's Fabian Cancellara won Saturday’s opening prologue of the Tour de
France.

Cycling's premier event began with a distinct British accent.

The 4.9-mile time trial was raced through downtown London.

Cancellara also won the Tour prologue in 2004.

Germany's Andreas Kloeden was the runner-up, with US rider George Hincapie finishing third.

The 2007 Tour is being contested under a cloud of doping suspicions that threatens all of cycling.

Floyd Landis of the US is not on hand.

He's still appealing a positive doping test that cost him his 2006 title.
