(July 11, 2007)—The NCAA will announce its decision regarding an investigation into the Oklahoma football program Wednesday afternoon.
The NCAA says in an e-mail it will discuss the case in a conference call at 2 p.m.
OU has been under investigation since last fall when quarterback Rhett Bomar and offensive lineman J. D. Quinn were kicked off the team for accepting pay for work they didn't perform at a Norman car dealership.
The NCAA later alleged OU failed to monitor the employment of several athletes.
OU disputes the allegation and says it should be applauded and not penalized for its efforts to find violations.
OU now prohibits athletes from working at the car dealership until at least the 2008-2009 academic year.
Bomar and Quinn each lost a season of eligibility and have transferred.
Bomar is now at Sam Houston State and Quinn is at Montana. up
