WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Wake Forest basketball coach Skip
Prosser has died of an apparent heart attack at age 56, according
to the school.
Athletic director Ron Wellman says Prosser was found slumped on
his office couch and unresponsive by director of basketball
operations Mike Muse shortly after returning from a noon jog.
Wellman called it "a devastating loss" and says he was unaware of
any previous health issues for Prosser
Prosser led the Demon Deacons to the Atlantic Coast Conference
regular-season title in 2003 and also guided the team to the
N-C-A-A tournament in the first four of his six seasons with the
school.
He was 126-and-68 at Wake Forest and had a career coaching
record of 291-and-146. He was the head coach at Xavier for six
seasons and at Loyola of Maryland for one.
