Baylor Holds First Practice In Glendale

(December 27, 2013) Baylor held its first practice in Glendale, Arizona on Friday at Scottsdale Community College.

Head coach Art Briles admitted his team will need a couple of practices to get back into the flow of things, but he liked the energy of his team during the morning practice.

“When you’re out here and the weather’s nice like it is, it’s not a bad little gig. So we’re trying to make sure we take full advantage of it," said Briles. "Any time you’re on the practice field working out this time of year, it’s good. We’re thankful to be out there and getting after it.”

“Honestly, I thought the energy level was way up," added Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty. "Guys are excited to be here and having fun with what they’re doing, which when you’re in Waco doing bowl practices, it’s getting kind of monotonous. But when you’re here, it’s a business trip now. Guys know what’s at stake.”

The Bears will face UCF on January 1 in the Fiesta Bowl at 7:30 pm (Central Texas time).
