MCC Golf Teams In 3rd At NJCAA National Championships

(May 14, 2013) -- The McLennan Highlanders shot 303-310 − 613 to remain in third place after round two of the NJCAA Women’s Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,209-yard Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.

Daytona State and Redlands are tied for first place with 303-305 − 608 and 301-307 − 608, respectively.

Rachel McQueen shot 71-73 − 144 to lead the Highlassies and is in second place. Sarah Schober of Redlands sits atop the individual leaderboard with 68-74 −142.

Other MCC scores: Aries Ramirez, fourth, 72-77 − 149; Marissa Bransburg, tied for 13th, 78-78 − 156; Allison Flores, tied for 25th, 82-82 − 164; and Whitney Uselton, tied for 49th, 88-89 − 177.

The McLennan Highlanders shot 294 to sit in third place after day one of the NJCAA Men’s Division I National Championship at the par-72, 7,349-yard Rawls Course in Lubbock.

Odessa and Midland are tied for first place with 291.

Andrew Johnson and Andrew Hans both shot 71 to lead the Highlanders and are tied for seventh place.

Other MCC scores: Chris Low, tied for 27th, 74; Ryan Beatty, tied for 79th, 78; and Kyle Southard, tied for 91st, 79.

The second round tees off Wednesday.
