Each week in Sports Friday, we rank the ten best teams in Central Texas regardless of class. It's our attempt at ranking the best schools pound for pound. That means in this poll, a six man team is on equal footing with the biggest 5A teams. Here is this week's Power Ten:

1. Copperas Cove
2. China Spring
3. Bremond
4. Abbott
5. La Vega
6. Itasca
7. Midway
8. McGregor
9. Academy
10. Salado

What do you think of this week's Power Ten? Let us know with your comments.

Can't believe you don't have Temple ranked. Although they have lost a bundle, they were to state ranked teams including Cove. IMO Midway would beat all on that list except Cove.

Give darrell a break, he's probably graduating from Rogers soon. And, oh, what about them Salado Eagles numbers?

Lets go Pirates! Keep up the good work and shake ALL them hatas off. They haven't phased us this far and don't let them do it now.

what about the rogers eagles puting up some big numbers and who can stop them in 25-2A

Posted by: Brandon Location: Troy on Oct 11, 2008 at 03:26 PM
wheres troy at? they put up 500 rushing yards aginst crawford, and put up almost 300 against hamilton, and the last three games they have about 1000 yards 12 touchdowns; and dont even try to argue with their defense anybody putting up those number against teams like crawford needs some recognition

Posted by: darrel Location: rogers on Oct 10, 2008 at 11:23 PM
academy and salado hasn't played rogers yet
