Man Burned In Pickup Truck Fire Dies; Teenage Daughter Fights For Life
A 34-year-old Texas man who was severely burned after fire broke out in the bed of his pickup truck died Tuesday and his 14-year-old daughter was fighting for life in a Dallas hospital.

JOHNSON COUNTY (August 18, 2009)—A Texas man who was severely burned after fire broke out in the bed of his pickup truck Monday afternoon on a rural road in Johnson County died Tuesday and his teenager daughter was fighting for life in a Dallas hospital.
Jessie Pack, 34, and his 14-year-old daughter were riding in the 1994 Ford pickup truck late Monday afternoon on County Road 213 in Venus when a fire broke out in the bed of the truck and then spread to the cab.
The pickup then ran off the road, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Pack and his daughter were flown to the burn unit of Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
Pack died early Tuesday morning.
Authorities said his daughter, whose name was not released, was in extremely critical Tuesday afternoon.

Sorry to hear this news. It was sent to me this past week by a former co-worker that I still hear from. Sad, terrible news to hear of Jessie in this story. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and the daughter for her recovery. Jessie, you will be remembered.
Jessie, you will be missed by all. I remember the last time I saw you...We had to ride in the back of that U-Haul truck and roll around with Jr laughing like we were 10 again. I have so many memories of endless hours with you. I am sorry we did not spend more time together as adults. I love you my precious cousin. Rest in peace.
