HEBBRONVILLE (September 8, 2009)—A traffic stop Friday morning on Texas State Highway 59 near Hebbronville in Jim Hogg County led to the seizure of 3,212 pounds of marijuana, the Department of Public Safety said Tuesday.

The pot, valued at $1.6 million, was hidden in a commercial truck that was painted to look like it belonged to an oilfield service company, the DPS said.

The driver of the truck Jason Jerard Hambric, 34, of Galveston, was charged with possession of marijuana and was taken to the Jim Hogg County Jail.
