GROVES (October 30, 2009)--A Groves man who’s accused of beating and kicking his 100-year-old grandmother after he allegedly had been drinking has been indicted for injury to the elderly and aggravated assault.

Jessie Lee Anderson was indicted Thursday.

Anderson was in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility Friday in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Groves police investigator Todd Y'Barbo said Basham and Anderson were arguing Oct. 12 about his drinking when she called police.

Their grandmother, Alma Miller Williams, was attacked when she tried to break up the fight.

Y’Barbo told The Associated Press "it's amazing that she made it."

Anderson’s sister, Katherine Basham, 56, was also attacked.

Both women have since recovered.

Groves is a city of nearly 15,000, about 90 miles east of Houston.

I say just lock him up with a big bad inmate and let him see how it feels to be pounded on for no reason. I know old people can be a challenge at times but they are well worth the care and deserve all our love and respect. No one knows what their lives have been like and what they have lived through. Elders can tell many stories that we all need to hear. I hope the ladies recover and never have to see his face again.

I agree with watching as I have lost my parents as well, but if you give me 10 min with this dumb***, he will be on his knees asking for forgiveness from his sister and his grandmother.....
