SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (December 22, 2009)—Actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony charges of defrauding an innkeeper, a prosecutor said.
The couple appeared Tuesday in a Santa Barbara courtroom after they were taken into custody over the weekend in Texas.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter says the Quaids were released after posting $20,000 bonds, an amount they initially forfeited after failing to appear last week for a hearing.
The two are accused of using an invalid credit card to defraud San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito of more than $10,000.
It’s the second time the couple has been arrested in Texas.
They spent several hours in the Presidio County Jail in September in after they were arrested on charges stemming from the unpaid bill as they drove into Marfa where they were staying at a hotel.

To Someone: Why extradite them to Texas? The crime was committed in California.
Throw them both in Jail, extradite them to Texas, try/convict them, and let them rot in Jail. They are nobody in particular, just thieves!
Let me see here, the hotel bill was $10,000: the bail they forfeited was $20,000! Looks like cousin Eddie is not very good at math!!!!
