Rachel knew she wanted to be a news reporter from a very early age while growing up in Chico, Texas. Her small town roots have always kept her wanting to stay in the Lone Star State. She and her family raised Beefmaster heifers, and Rachel made her way across Texas for shows like the Houston Livestock Show and the Fort Worth Stock Show.

After graduation she went to her dream school, The Schieffer School of Journalism at TCU. During college she interned at the Democratic National Convention for Eurovision and also worked for MTV News in Santa Monica. She was also the social chair for her sorority Alpha Chi Omega and worked to raise funds for their philanthropy a fashion show benefiting the Women’s Center of Fort Worth.

Rachel landed her first reporting job in Amarillo at KAMR NBC4 / KCIT Fox 14 where she worked for three years. During her time she covered events that impacted the entire Texas Panhandle. Some included breaking news of wildfires, and extensive homicide coverage. She even traveled to Death Row to interview convicted murderer Hank Skinner for what was set to be his last interview before his execution. Later, in a shocking turn of events the United States Supreme Court stepped in and granted Skinner a stay of execution.

She is glad to be in Central Texas and in her free time likes to check out local music, spend time with friends and family, and cook. She loves getting to know interesting people in the community, so if you have a great story idea drop her an email.
