KWTX has always been a part of Megan Fleetwood's family's life. She says her parents still tell stories about growing up in Gatesville where, "Everyone swore by Roy Cook talking weather and Wayne Claiborne for news."
She says she did part of her growing up in her grandmother's swimming pool in Gatesville, at Baylor band camp visiting her uncle in Waco, and exploring the Stockyards with her parents in Cowtown, or Fort Worth.
Megan grew up in Ft. Worth, and recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
There she earned a degree in broadcast journalism and minored in Spanish.
She has always had a passion for the Spanish language, and was able to use it during her study abroad in Cadiz, Spain, and as a reporter intern, first at KDFW in Dallas, and then at KTBC in Austin.
At UT, when Megan wasn't cheering for the Longhorns, she was spending time with her sorority sisters as chaplain for Kappa Delta, or doing a little salsa with her friends in the Texas Ballroom Club.
She is passionate about giving to others, and spent many years growing up involved in AWANA Bible club at her church back home.
By giving people facts they need to make the most informed decisions they can, she hopes to make a difference serving as a reporter and producer at KWTX. She is passionate about the role she feels broadcast journalism plays in society today, and wants to hear your voice!
