Name: Adam Winkler
Title: Sports Reporter, Anchor
Email Address: adam.winkler@kwtx.com

Adam Winkler joined the KWTX sports team as a sports reporter/anchor in July of 2007.

In 2008, the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters recognized Adam's work with two AP Awards. He won 2nd Place in the category of Best Sportscast and received an Honorable Mention for Best Sports Story.

Prior to KWTX, he worked as the weekend sports anchor at KNOE, the top-rated station in Monroe, Louisiana.

The Louisiana Associated Press twice honored Adam with the award for Best Sportscast for his work as co-host on the Friday Night Blitz football show, Louisiana's highest rated high school highlight show.

Joining News 10 is a homecoming for Adam who grew up Houston, and after graduating from Klein High School, played college baseball at Southwestern University in Georgetown.

Adam helped the Pirates capture a conference championship in 2002 and received his Communication Studies degree in 2004.

The past two years, along with News 10's Emily Matthews, he has served as co-emcee of the American Cancer Society's McGregor Relay for Life.

When he is not at work or "researching" the Houston Astros, Adam enjoys shuffleboard, foosball, and exploring the sand, trees, and water of America's finest golf courses.
