TEMPLE (June 17, 2009)—H-E-B has purchased a 160-acre site in the Temple Industrial Park for construction of a 400,000-square-foot distribution center that will ultimately employ more than 100, Binswanger Brokers, which handled the deal, announced Wednesday.
H-E-B announced in February it plans to build the multi-million dollar facility near Temple’s rail park at Central Pointe.
The facility will serve H-E-B’s stores in North and Central Texas.
"Temple is strategically located in the Central Texas region, has good highway and rail access, and will allow H-E-B to better serve our customers," Brad Alm, H-E-B director of industrial projects, said in announcing the project.

Yeah, Waco is full of old money and the good ole boy system. I've been here for 20 years and still feel like an outsider since I wasn' born here (or in TX), or didn't go to Baylor. And the Chamber? Now that's a joke. They don't do a thing to promote..oh wait, Waco We Do!!! You mean Waco We Don't...
East Waco is already dead. You can find more development on the moon than East Waco. Now the cancer is spreading. Someday Waco will be a suburb of Temple. Check out the Chamber of Commerce website. the CofC has done more for the McGregor former Bluebonnet Ordinance site than the whole of East Waco. I am very curious, what kind of money under the table kind of deal was that?
Rail is what birthed Temple back in the day. We need another Grocery store, not just distribution centers. The population of Temple/Belton is booming.
