TEMPLE (November 5, 2009)—Milam County sheriff’s deputies made an arrest Thursday morning in connection with a home invasion in Temple that left a woman fighting for life and a man with minor injuries.

Deputies found Christopher Sims, 32, of Temple at around 9:40 a.m. Thursday and arrested him after what police said was a lengthy foot chase.

Police had been looking for Sims since a man broke into an apartment shortly before 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Cimarron East Apartments in the 1400 block of East Avenue E and attacked the man and woman inside with a knife.

The woman had been cut and stabbed repeatedly.

She was taken to Scott & White Hospital with injuries police described as life threatening.

The male resident suffered minor injuries, police said, and was treated at the scene.

Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the attacks.
