BELL COUNTY (November 8, 2009)—Authorities Monday identified the woman who died Sunday morning in a fiery one-vehicle crash in Bell County as Anita Michelle Cann, 47, of Temple.
The accident was reported at about 11:15 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Moffat Road and Cedar Ridge Road.
Authorities said Cann’s small Volkswagen was headed northeast on Moffat Road when it left the roadway as she attempted to negotiate a corner, hit a fence a utility pole and then burst into flames.
Cann was ejected and died at the scene.
Family members were at the scene early Sunday afternoon.
The accident left homes in about a five-mile radius of the scene without power, authorities said.
Some roads in the area are blocked because of the accident and a reconstruction team was reportedly en route.

To Layne, thank you.
To Courtney in Troy, I was the one she was passing and I am not angry only sad. If there could have been a way that I could have kept her from passing me she would still be alive. I feel so bad for the family that they have to live with out her. I just wish there had been something I could have done for her when I found her but she was already gone. RIP
