TEMPLE (February 09, 2010)-A Temple man was taken to Scott and White Hospital with life threatening injuries after his car careened out of control and crashed through three fences before it collided with two different houses.
The collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the back yard of a residence in the 4600 block of Cactus Drive in Temple.
The first officer on the scene found an adult male slumped behind the wheel of a 1999 Black Ford sedan that had crashed backwards into a garage.
Investigators determined the car was backing out of the driveway of a neighboring house three doors down away from the accident scene.
The driveways of the houses all enter into an ally.
Police say the sedan, in reverse, went out of control, struck several fences and passed through three back yards before it sideswiped one house and crashed through the wall of a neighboring house. The car then collided with an unoccupied vehicle inside the second house’s garage.
Construction engineers were called in to determine if occupants of the second house would be able to remain there following Monday’s collision.
Temple police were also investigating the man’s house and car to determine what his physical and/or mental state might have been prior to and during the collision.
The cause of the collision had not yet been released Tuesday morning.

Do any of you people have an 'ally' behind your house? I thought they were alleys! I hope the guy was paid up on his Liability, and Health Insurance!!
