TEMPLE (February 21, 2010)—Temple officials have closed the South Kegley Road bridge because of a sinkhole that’s six feet across and 20 feet deep.
The sinkhole is on the north side of the bridge, which is in the 2300 block of South Kegley where Kegley crosses Bird Creek is about a half mile north of the intersection of Charter Oaks and Kegley.
Temple police discovered the sinkhole at around 5 p.m. Saturday.
The Texas Department of Transportation and consulting engineers will help Temple officials assess the damage to the bridge, which appears to have been caused by water flow from the creek and the resulting erosion.
Officials don’t know how long the bridge will remain closed.

No latedah, I was incorrect.
Wilbur is right. They've patched that road for years! It's two narrow & there has been several accidents along this route. The owner of the property on the west side dug a huge trench/moat several years ago so anyone with a lick of sense could have anticipated problem. I'm surprised the country club jet-set hasn't complained before.
Wilbur, your an idiot, you have nothing better to do than post things you know nothing about? why not get off this and get a job. stop waiting for that check to arrive. think positive you moron.
