FORT HOOD (February 25, 2010)—Col. James Pohl, the investigative officer appointed to conduct a hearing that will determine whether Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan goes on trial for the deadly shooting rampage at Fort Hood, has set a new date for the proceeding.

The Article 32 hearing, which is the military equivalent of a civilian grand jury review, was originally scheduled for March 1, but is now set to begin on June 1, the Army said Thursday.

Hasan is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the shooting rampage at the post’s Soldier Readiness Center that left 13 dead and 29 injured.

He has been held at a military hospital in San Antonio, but talks are underway about transferring him to the Bell County Jail.

He was left paralyzed in an exchange of gunfire with two civilian police officers who are credited with ending the massacre.

why the setoff for some 3 months anyway? i guess all the attorneys on "both sides" need the time to get all their lies straight. every since this event happened, the press has changed their story of what happened (starting the same day), the government has changed their story (starting the same day). i simply refuse to be gullible anymore about everything i read concerning this horrible massacre. ONE man done ALL this KILLING and MAIMING! That's their story and their sticking to it. Well, people that were there, including myself, feel otherwise. if anyone out there knows the identities of the other TWO SUSPECTS that were detained and then released that day, i'd certainly like to be informed. because as far as i know, neither the gov't nor the news media has let out one iota of additional information about them down to this day. hey, i know..maybe, instead of former suspects, they will become the "STAR" witnesses when all this goes to trial....ya think?

Now Jen, where is your forgining spirit? He is still only an alleged murderer. Boy what a stupid thing to say. First off he doesn't need to be tried in a civillian court or anything else civillian. We need to let the military handle this stupid A@# and put him in front of a firing squad. Any member of the squad that misses needs to be court martialed also and charged with derelict of duty and sent to the stockade for missing. It is alright though, we also need to go after those jerks that pushed him up through the ranks and let him have a chance to smile after killing innocent people.

Really, if?!?! He took the lives of innocent people! I think he should be hung with a pig skin rope after he enjoys his last meal of bacon, sausage and pork chops. He needs to go to Bell county jail and stay there with all the other scum! He does not deserve special treatment. I vote for an old time hanging!
