FORT WORTH (March 1, 2010)--After four months in a military hospital in San Antonio, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist charged in the worst mass shooting in history on a U.S. military base, will soon be moved to the Bell County Jail, perhaps as early as Monday night, his attorney, John Galligan, said.

Galligan said Hasan will be flown to Bell County by helicopter from the military hospital in San Antonio where he has undergone treatment since shortly after the deadly rampage.

Galligan said Hasan’s treatment is now finished.

Bell County Jail administrator Bob Patterson said Hasan would be housed in a cell in the medical unit.

Patterson said the facility that opened a year ago to replace the county's aging jail is prepared to handle inmates with special medical needs.

Hasan was taken to a San Antonio military hospital shortly after the Nov. 5 shooting rampage at Fort Hood’s Soldier Readiness Center.

He was wounded in an exchange of gunfire with two civilian police officers and is paralyzed from the chest down.

Hasan is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the shooting rampage at the post’s Soldier Readiness Center that left 13 dead and 29 injured.

Last week, Col. James Pohl, the investigative officer appointed to conduct a hearing that will determine whether Hasan goes on trial for the deadly shooting rampage, set June 1 as the date for an Article 32 Hearing, which is the military equivalent of a civilian grand jury review.

Is HASAN still parallelized, or parallelized at all? He is gonna be a hassle for everyone, not to mention he will be given extra security, and high priority medical treatment.

I too agree with the previous comments. Why is this trash still referred to as a "Major" and why do they keep referring to him as the "accused" gunman? He did it. that is why he got shot in the first place. Why are the people of the media bowing to this idiot? What is wrong with our country? If a spade is a spade then call it a spade and get on with it. This man was an idiotic terrorist and there is no doubt as to what he did. If you won't say it, I will.

I have no sympathy for this SOB and his special needs. Prop him up and shoot him already!
