Desktop Alert provides you with a powerful set of tools in a very small package: Doppler 10 Online: Live and local—the most powerful Doppler radar available in Central Texas Lightning: A real-time view of where the most severe weather is located around the country Wind: Just move your mouse pointer to any area of Central Texas for real time wind speeds and directions Humidity: Move your mouse pointer to any area of Central Texas for real time humidity readings Temperature: Move your mouse pointer to any area of Central Texas for real time temperature readings. National Radar: Current weather conditions from around the country. Click on any area for a closer view National Temperatures: Move your mouse pointer to any area of the country for real time temperature readings Hurricanes: A real time look at what’s brewing and where Hurricane Tracker: An easy to use tool for keeping track of developing storms Current Conditions: Up to the minute information about temperature, winds, humidity and barometric pressure News: The latest headlines from kwtx.com Homeland Security Status: Displays the current alert status in the U.S How does News 10 Desktop Alert work? The News 10 Desktop Alert control panel sits directly on your computer desktop. To minimize the window, just click on the X in the upper right corner. The current temperature will be displayed on your Windows task bar. Whenever there’s a severe weather warning or late breaking news, you will receive a text crawl directly on your computer. Among the options you have is to set an audible alert to let know important information is coming, even if you’re not working on your computer.
