Ellie Morrison is a local, regional and national volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America.
Ellie has served as Den Leader, Pack Trainer, Assistant Scoutmaster, Membership Vice President for the Longhorn Council, Commissioner of the Longhorn Executive Committee, Regional Wood Badge Chairman of the Southern Region of the Boy Scouts of America and will be serving on the London Staff for the 2007 World Jamboree.
The National Council of the Boy Scouts of America has recognized her with the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to youth in Central Texas and the Silver Antelope Award for distinguished service to youth in the Southern Region of the Boy Scouts of America.
Ellie is the volunteer coordinator for Food For Families in McLennan County. More than one thousand volunteers assist with sorting the donated food under Ellie’s direction. Food For Families is the largest one-day food drive in Texas.
Ellie is currently serving on Waco’s Community Visioning Project as a member of the Develop Our Distinct Advantage Committee and is co-chair of the Educational Resource Sub-Committee.
She has also served her community as President of the Board of Vanguard College Preparatory School, Chairman of the Waco Symphony Council Brass and Bells, member of the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation, the Earle Harrison House and Oakwood Cemetery.
She is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club, past General Chairman of the Waco Cotton Palace Pageant and has served as Chairman of the Junior League of Waco Charity Ball.
