WACO (July 29, 2010)-Jeremy Degrate pleaded guilty Wednesday to attempted murder in connection with the January stabbing of his girlfriend.

Degrate was sentenced by 54th state District Court judge Matt Johnson to serve eight years in state prison.

Prosecutors say Degrate, 26, was arrested in the early morning house of January 11 at Pepper Tree Apartments on Robinson Drive.

Charizma Medlock was taken from that scene to Providence Hospital with a stab wound in her arm.

She told police she and Degrate had been arguing and he stabbed her.
