(October 4, 2013)—A freeze warning was issued Friday for some counties in the Texas Panhandle ahead of a cold front that could drop temperatures below freezing this weekend.
The warning includes Parmer, Castro, Swisher, Bailey, Lamp, Hale, Cochran and Hockley Counties.
It’s in effect from late Saturday night through Sunday morning.
In Central Texas, temperatures will fall into the 60s Saturday afternoon as the front moves in and lows Saturday night will be in the lower 50s.
There’s also a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday.
