(May 12, 2008)--Storms that produced deadly tornadoes over the weekend have moved east, causing flooding and power outages and prompting evacuations in the mid-Atlantic region.
As much as four inches of rain has fallen across the area since Sunday afternoon.
A sinkhole up to 30 feet wide and 10 feet deep forced the evacuation of three homes in the Washington suburb of Camp Springs, Md.
Flood warnings were in effect in parts of Western Maryland, where several roads remain closed due to high water.
In Delaware, the National Guard and state police evacuated several coastal communities because of high tides and heavy rains that have flooded roads.
Farther up the coast, wind and rain have caused average delays of up to two and a-half hours for flights heading into New York's three major airports.
