More FEMA Help On The Way For Waterlogged Counties
More than a dozen counties eligible for federal flooding aid may be getting more money.

(July 1, 2008)--President Bush is raising FEMA's reimbursement level for flood-related public expenses to 90 percent, which means 13 Illinois counties could get another 15 percent of their costs.

Meanwhile, the worst of the Midwest flooding appears over.

St. Louis seems to be comfortably handling its crest on the Mississippi River, which is about 9 feet above flood stage.

A few businesses are closed, but the message is that St. Louis is running normally.

Above St. Louis, waters in hard-hit Lincoln County, Mo. are dropping.

Communities downstream on the Mississippi are still awaiting their crests.

In Iowa City, the University of Iowa says it plans to reopen a flooded residence hall as soon as August.

Wow! You mean the counties that have been most recently flooded are not looting stores and asking for hand outs? I am glad to see people dealing with their own problems as opposed to blaming them on the President. I am also willing to bet that these people aren't even relocating at the Government's expense.

have you noticed that there isn't a bunch looting in the cities in this state or their police officers aren't turning into bigger thugs and hoodlums than the ones they arrest and there is no blaming or finger pointing or claims of the U.S. military bombing the levees? and where is jesse jackson and al sharpton now???
