(July 20, 2008)—A tropical storm warning was in effect Sunday for Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula from the border with Belize to Campeche as Tropical Storm Dolly moves northwest toward the southern Gulf of Mexico.

If Dolly holds its current track, the center of the storm will cross the Yucatan Peninsula Sunday night and emerge over the southern Gulf Monday on a path toward South Texas.

On Sunday, Dolly had sustained winds near 45 miles per hour with higher gusts.

Dolly could have some impact on Central Texas weather by the end of the week in the form of showers.

I hope it makes it and brings some rain to give our Fire Fighters a break from all the grass fires. And to all the Fire Fighters, thank you for doing a dangerous job to protect us all.
