ORLANDO, Fla. (February 4, 2009)—The entire state of Florida was under chilly night for Wednesday night.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the 20s, on what could be one of the coldest nights of the year.

It comes at the height of Florida's winter growing season.

The state is a primary supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables for most of the nation during the winter.

Crops now being harvested range from citrus fruit and strawberries to corn, tomatoes and beans.

To help speed up harvesting, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is letting farmers use bigger trucks.

The citrus industry expects pockets of damage, but says most commercial groves are south of where it's expected to be coldest.

If the temperature stays below 28 degrees for more than four hours, there can be major crop damage.
