Another round of storms has hit portions of the Texas Panhandle, but there were no major reports of damage from tornadoes that touched down briefly around Amarillo and Dalhart.

There was no sign of damage from the penny-sized hail that pelted the region.

National Weather Service forecasts call for a chance of rain continuing in the Panhandle Friday and much of the rest of the state should have sunny skies.

Meteorologist Steve Drillette said a tornado touched down west of Amarillo around 6:30 p.m. and another was reported near Dalhart in the afternoon.

Quarter-sized hail was also reported near Dumas.
