BRUCEVILLE-EDDY—(June 23, 2009)--Customers of the Bruceville-Eddy water supply will have to change their daily routines as mandatory water conservation measures are imposed.
Those include limiting outdoor watering, filling or topping off pools and car-washing to two days a week between the hours of midnight at 5 a.m.
Customers with street addresses that end in even numbers may water during those hours on Mondays and Thursdays and customers with addresses that end in odd numbers may water on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The order says fountains may be operated only to support aquatic life.
Fire hydrants may be used only for firefighting or for certain construction purposes with a city permit.
Hard surfaces may not be washed down, gutters may not be flushed and water may not be used to control dust or wash down buildings.
Restaurants may serve water only if customers request it.
