The HEAT ADVISORY has been issued for several Central Texas Counties including Bell, Falls, Freestone, Leon, Limestone, Milam, McLennan Robertson Counties.

Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 70s Thursday with afternoon temperatures on Friday reaching near or above the century mark.

Increasing heat will result in dangerous afternoon heat index values ranging from 105 to 110 degrees.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions
Never leave young children or pets in an enclosed vehicle...even for a short time...as temperatures can quickly rise to life threatening levels.

Persons involved in vigorous outdoor activities are urged to take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.

Wear loose fitting and light-colored clothing and be sure to check on persons with health problems and the elderly, as they are the most susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
