JAKARTA, Indonesia (September 7, 2009)--The U.S. Geological Survey says a 6.1-magnitude earthquake has hit off the eastern coast of the main Indonesian island of Java.

Sutiyono from Indonesia's Meteorological and Geophysics Agency said there were no reports of causalities or damage and said no tsunami warning was triggered.

Sutiyono, like many Indonesians, uses only one name.

The temblor struck late Monday at a depth of about 10 miles about 385 miles southeast of the capital, Jakarta.

A 7.0-magnitude quake shook Java last week, killing at least 64 people.

Rescuers were still searching for bodies Monday, but there is little hope of finding survivors.
