Black Hills Turn White
The Black Hills of South Dakota got a dusting of snow Thursday.

(October 1, 2009)—The Black Hills of South Dakota were covered with a light blanket of snow on the first day of October.

It was the first snow of the season, but residents know it’s far from the last.

About an inch of snow fell on the region on Thursday.
