MANILA, Philippines (October 18, 2009)--Philippine disaster-response agencies were getting various forms of aid ready to go Sunday as another typhoon threatened the country, which has already been pounded by back-to-back storms that killed more than 750.
Tons of food aid was being packed, a helicopter as ready and a massive evacuation plan was being finalized in the mountainous north Sunday.
Forecasters say Typhoon Lupit, which is roaring over the Pacific Ocean with sustained winds of 108 mph and gusts of 130 mph will likely spare hard-hit Manila, but the storm could slam into the northern part of the country in about three days.
