DENVER (October 28, 2009)—A massive early season winter storm that’s dumping plenty of snow on Colorado was slowing or even stalling traffic Wednesday on Interstate 70, the major east-west route through the state.
Emergency officials say conditions will get worse before they get better.
Authorities received a number of reports Wednesday of vehicles that had slid off the highway, as well as of minor fender benders.
Truckers were required to put chains on their rigs.
Mountain areas of the state could receive three feet of snow or more by the time the system moves out sometime Thursday.
