Ida Weakens, But Is Expected To Strengthen
Tropical Depression Ida entered the northwestern Caribbean Friday where its expected to gain strength.

MIAMI (November 6, 2009)—Tropical Depression Ida was in the northwestern Caribbean Friday and expected to gain strength.
Friday afternoon, Ida was about 65 miles northwest of Cabo Gracias A Dios on the border between Nicaragua and Honduras and was moving north at about 8 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of about 35 miles per hour.
A turn toward the north-northwest is expected Saturday and Ida should approach Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula late Sunday.
Ida should again become a tropical storm sometime Saturday.
