FORT WORTH (November 16, 2009)—As the state’s population continues to grow rapidly, the state's water supply continues to shrink.
What to do about that problem is the focus of lawmakers and experts during a water conference starting Monday in Fort Worth.
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, key lawmakers and water experts are gathering to raise awareness about the shortage and the importance of investing in the state water plan.
Texas Water Development Board projections show that, as early as 2060, 85 percent of Texans won't have enough water during times of drought.
The meeting comes on the heels of a brutal two-year drought period that forced cities around the state to restrict water usage.

Which is all the more reason of why we should recycle, reuse, and reduce. Everything we do affects the water quality of our lives. The air quality, the dumping of hazardous waste, tire dumping, all these things go into our water and affects global warming. Remember, even the smallest acts of recycling contributes to the whole. Be the change you want to see in the world!
