At Least One Death Results From Storms In Midwest, Southeast

ST. LOUIS (April 11, 2013)--At least one death has resulted from a strong spring storm system that's produced everything from tornadoes to ice and snow in the Midwest and parts of the southeastern U.S.

Mississippi Emergency Management Agency spokesman Greg Flynn said one person died and several were injured in a reported tornado in Kemper County in the far eastern part of the state.

In Missouri, the National Weather Service says that the St. Louis suburb of Hazelwood was hit by an EF-2 tornado Wednesday night.

A National Weather Service meteorologist said crews were still assessing whether tornadoes were responsible for other damage in Missouri and neighboring Illinois.
