(March 26, 2013)—The temperature fell to a record low Tuesday morning in Central Texas.
The mercury dropped to 22 degrees just before 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, breaking the 25-degree record set in 1955.
It’s the latest ever in the cold season that the official temperature at Waco Regional Airport has fallen so low.
The last time it was 22 degrees this late in the cold season was on March 20, 1965, the National Weather Service said.
Highs Tuesday will be around 60, but a warm-up is on the way.
Temperatures should rise into the upper 60s Wednesday afternoon.
