CASNOVIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (January 31, 2014) A crash early Friday on an icy roadway in western Michigan left four dead and five more injured, Muskegon County Sheriff Dean Roesler said.
The crash was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Friday in Muskegon County's Casnovia Township.
The roadway at the scene was closed as authorities investigated.
Undersheriff Dan Stout says four who died were in a sport utility vehicle that was struck by a pickup truck.
He said two others in the SUV also were seriously injured and three people in the pickup were taken to a nearby hospital.
The crash happened about 20 miles northwest of Grand Rapids.
