LONDON (November 27, 2012)--Police say they found the body of an elderly woman in a flooded home, as hundreds of Britons struggle to contain damage done by the recent wet weather.
North Wales Police said emergency rescue workers discovered the body Tuesday in the Welsh city of St Asaph, where the swollen river Elwy has surged through flood defenses.
The death was being treated as unexplained.
Fire service workers have rescued people trapped in their homes by floodwater and hundreds have been urged to flee their homes across the country as sustained wet weather kept many areas of Britain under water.
The Environmental Agency warned there’s a continued risk of flooding across England, even as the rainfall decreases.
