Fall Snowstorm Responsible For At Least One Death

DEADWOOD, S.D. (October 7, 2013)--At least one death has been linked the record-breaking snowstorm that hit western South Dakota.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office says a rural Deadwood resident collapsed while cleaning snow off his roof and later died.

The man’s name wasn’t immediately released.

The weekend storm dumped 4 feet of snow near Deadwood.

Black Hills Power says it has restored electricity to more than 15,000 customers in the wake of the weekend storm.

The utility said about 14,000 customers remained in the dark.
