BAKER, Calif. (April 15, 2014) A giant thermometer along Interstate 15 in Death VAlley is getting a makeover.
The family of the late Willis Herron is refurbishing the roadside attraction.
Herron was the original owner of the giant thermometer in the desert between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
The family says it should be back in operation this year.
The thermometer is 134 feet high because of the 134-degree temperature record set in 1913 in Death Valley.
