RAYNE, La. (March 7, 2011)--Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal says the people of the tornado-ravaged town of Rayne, La., are strong and will rebuild their community stronger than before.
Jindal met with officials and surveyed the damage from the Saturday storm that killed a woman and displaced hundreds.
He said more would be known about federal assistance when teams from the state and federal government assess the damage to the town about 70 miles west of Baton Rouge.
The storm killed Jalisa Granger, 21, who was protecting her 15-month-old son, when part of an oak tree crashed onto her home.
