VASLUI, Romania (January 8, 2013)—Heavy snow and winds near 50 miles per hour were hammering northern and northeastern areas of Romania Tuesday, closing roads and leaving dozens of travelers stranded.
Six national roads will be closed throughout the day.
A bus and about 100 travelers were stuck on the border between Romania and Moldova.
The army was working to get them out.
On the Black sea, waves reached heights of as much as 16 feet.
One man was reported missing.
