SALT LAKE CITY (January 24, 2013)--Salt Lake City International Airport was closed Thursday because of icy conditions.
Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann said a Frontier airplane slid off the runway while landing Thursday morning.
There were no reports of injuries.
Gann said it’s not clear how long the airport will be closed because of the ice, which causes poor friction on the runways.
Freezing rain in northern Utah caused dozens of accidents on roadways around Salt Lake City Thursday morning.
