Lightning Kills Texas Restaurant Worker

LUFKIN (May 22, 2013)—A Lufkin restaurant worker who standing outside the business and holding an umbrella during a storm died after lightning hit her.

The incident happened Tuesday night.

The woman died at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin.

Lt. Ronny LaRue says medical personnel attempted to transport the victim to a trauma center but the helicopter could not fly in the bad weather.

Her name wasn't immediately released.
