Print

(November 8, 2012)--The nor'easter that moved up the East Coast caused more than 200,000 additional power outages in the same areas that were hit by Superstorm Sandy.

More than 750,000 homes and businesses, mostly in New Jersey and New York, were in the dark Thursday, down from a peak of more than 8.5 million in the wake of Sandy.

The storm produced gusty winds, rain and snow, but didn't cause the flooding that had been anticipated.

It was moving into New England Thursday.

In New York, some sections of Queens and Staten Island hard hit by Sandy got up to 6 inches of snow Wednesday.

More than 6 inches of snow fell in parts of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
