PARADISE, Pa. (October 20, 2012)--A pavilion where people sought shelter as severe weather moved in collapsed at a central Pennsylvania park, and 10 to 12 people suffered minor injuries, several of them children.
Authorities say several dozen people attending a baseball game Friday night sought shelter when the storms swept through Paradise Township in Lancaster County.
High winds caused the pavilion to collapse.
State police told WGAL-TV that 10 to 12 people were taken to a hospital, mostly children with minor injuries.
One man was reported to have suffered a broken leg and another had a cut on his head.
A hospital official declined to release information about their conditions.
Emergency Management Director Randall Gockley said the pavilion was 40 feet by 40 feet.
